My full moon ritual

Tonight my boyfriend drove me down out back ally to a field across from the school where people park and such. I set up my circle with all candles and after casting my circle and calling th quarters I asked each quarter and the Lady and Lord to bless a cute little angle figure my mom gave me and I also did the Drawing Down the Moon.

Horse Woman pt 3

ASSOCIATED GODDESSES FOR THE HORSE WOMAN:

Epona: Horse goddess of the ancient Gauls, Epona represents bravery, freedom, and courage, and was taken to heart by the Romans. She is usually shown riding a horse carrying fruit or corn. Epona is believed to guide the soul on its final journey to the afterworld. The kings of Ireland were associated symbolically with the white mare (as a representation of rebirth) and it is believed this came from the cult of Epona that existed throughout Spain, Italy, and Britain.

Brigantina: A Celtic goddess of war and a patron of the arts. Often portrayed wearing a helmet and carrying a trident, Brigantina symbolizes victory, energy, and celebration. This goddess became know as Saint Brigit in Ireland, and a cult of priestesses was dedicated to her. She was a teacher of the martial arts, and her soldiers were known as "brigands."

Morrigan: A Celtic goddess who was associated with war and the battlefield, Morrigan was strongly linked to horses and could change shape into an animal at will. She was also known as the crone Macha, Great Queen of the Phantoms.

Lady Godiva: This title is translated as "Lady Goddess." Goda is the Nordic term for Freya, while diva is the Indo-European word for "goddess." Lady Godiva was said to ride around naked on horseback to symbolize rebirth and fertility.

For sale!

Hello everyone! I know I don't have a horde of loyal followers but I'm hoping a few people will see this. At one point in march I had a booth in a flea market selling Wiccan items. I did okay but I had to close up and leave for the *Ahem* "Good" of the community I was selling in. I still have a few items left and I would really like to sell them. I've hit a bit of a rough patch and I need some cash.
I have candles, teas, statues, ink pens, and some other odds and ends. If anyone is interested I can take pictures of the stuff and put them up~ Please let me know it would be a great help!

Blessed Be!

Goddess Signs

I was recently looking over the book Goddess Signs by Angelica Danton. It's a really good book. It tells you based on your Chinese Zodiac sign, which type of goddess you are, which are listed as Moon Goddess Women (Goat Woman: The Natural Nymph, Dog Woman: The Natural High Priestess, and Cat Woman: The Natural Enchantress), Sun Goddess Women (Dragon Women: The Natural Queen and Rooster Woman: The Natural Diva), Earth Goddess Women (Pig Woman:The Natural Protectress and Ox Woman: The Natural Empress), Warrior Goddess Women (Horse Woman: The Natural Warrior and Tiger Woman: The Natural Huntress) and Dark Goddess Women (Rat Woman: The Natural Bewitcher, Monkey Woman: The Natural Sorceress, and Snake Woman: The Natural Siren). It also follows with a section titled Goddess Types and Relationships which includes Goddess signs and Karma and God signs & Compatibility.

My star sign is a Leo but my Chinese sign is The Horse and my element is Metal instead of Fire. This would make me a Warrior Goddess Woman. The book has this to say about Warrior Goddess in the Introduction:

"Warrior Goddesses are bold, innovative, and energetic. The warrior spirit is forceful and achieving and survives many odds and obstacles. Warrior Goddess women identify with the discipline and dedication of the soldier (eh...not so much.) and the fighter character. In history, the Warrior Goddesses hold a very important place as inspirers of hope for fighting armies and tribes. Warrior Goddesses are admirable and awesome but must beware their over assertiveness and aggression that can alienate them from others. Learning temperance and when to pull their heads in are important lessons for Warrior women, as is balancing their assertiveness with feminine reflection.
Women under the sign of the Horse and Tiger relate well to the Warrior Goddess energy.
Examples of Warrior Goddesses in Mythology:
Valkyries: Nordic war-maiden goddesses who rode throughout the world bringing back to the gods the bravest souls who had fallen in battle.
Brigantia: Celtic goddess of battle, regarded as a symbol of victory to the ancient Celts. (My heritage lol =D)
Sekhmet: Powerful Egyptian lioness-headed goddess of battle and victory.
Nike: Greek goddess who symbolized victory and success to those in battle. The ancient Romans saw her as Victoria, the goddess of victory over death.
Famous Warrior Goddess Women:
Agatha Christie (Tiger)
Barbra Streisand (Horse)
Penelope Cruz (Tiger)
Aretha Franklin (Horse)
Queen Elizabeth II (Tiger)
Cindy Crawford (Horse)"

I have a link and image to this book below. Tomorrow I will add more details of my sign. If this seems interesting to you and you would like to know more about your sign leave me a comment and I might do a few blog entries on your sign.
Blessed Be!

The Wiccan Rede

The Rede can be found in various books, on posters, and around the internet.

Bide ye Wiccan laws you must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Live ye must, and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

Form the circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind your spell well every time, let the spell be spoke in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little and listen much.
Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out ye baleful tune.

When ye Lady's moon is new, kiss your hand to her times two.
When ye moon rides at her peek, then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the north winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the wind comes from the south, love will kiss thee on the mouth.

When the wind blows from the east, expect the new and set the feast.
When the wind blows from the west, Bardic words be at their best!

Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be ye Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed ye'll be.

When the wheel begins to turn, soon ye Beltane fires will burn.
When the wheel hath turned a Yule, light the log the Horned One rules.

Heed ye flower, bush, and tree, by the Lady blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth ye'll know.

When ye have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend, or be counted as his friend.

Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind ye threefold law ye must, three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow, wear the star upon thy brow.
True in love ye ever be, lest thy love be false to thee.

Bide ye Wiccan laws you must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
These eight laws the Rede fulfill;

An harm it none, do what ye will.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a witch?
A witch above all worships the Triple Goddess and her Consort, The Horned God, in one form or another.  A Witch works Magick within a definite code of ethics.  A Witch acknowledges and uses the male-female polarity in his/her rites.  A Witch takes total responsibility for her actions, herself, and her future.
What is Wicca?
There are many differences between the various sects but on the whole Wicca is an ancient religion for love of life and nature.  The word 'Wicca' can be defined as 'the wise' or 'to bend', from a much older word 'Wicce'.  The Wicce believe in duality and the laws of karma, celebrating life through the seasons and the old Pagan season festivals.
What is Witchcraft?
Synonymous with 'Wicca' (although some traditionalists strongly disagree), the words 'Wicca', 'Wicce' 'Witchcraft' and 'Witch' all have the same basic meanings.
Do Witches worship Satan?
No.  'Satan' or 'The Devil' is an 'evil' aspect of Christianity.  Wiccans do not believe in divine good nor divine evil, as divinity is always reflected through each individual.  The unfortunate claims that the male aspect of Wicca (usually in the form of The Horned God of the Wild) is the same as the Christian Devil, is a good chunk of the reason why many Christians and others harshly persecute and ridicule those of The Craft.
Is Wicca related to Satanism?
No, absolutely no affiliation.  Once again 'Satan' is an aspect of Christianity worshiped by 'satanists'.  There are no similarities, much less equalities, to join the two paths.
Who do Witches worship?
Everything in nature to a Wiccan is a true aspect of deity.  However, the aspects most often celebrated are the Triple Goddess of the Moon (Who is Maiden, Mother, and Crone) and the Horned God of the wilds .  These figureheads represent the duality (in gender and every respect) of everything in nature.
Can a Witch also be Christian?
No.  Craft folk believe in a beneficent universe, the laws of karma and reincarnation, and divinity inherent in every human being... where-as Judeo-Christianity incorporates concepts such as original sin, vicarious atonement, bodily resurrection, and divinity inherent in the Godhead alone.  Besides, you'd have to ask how serious a person who practiced two religions was about either one. Being Jewish is an exception, since it is a race and culture as well as a religion. There are many Wiccan Jews, but they practice Wicca, not Judaism.
How do I become a witch?
One is not born a witch, nor does calling oneself a witch make one a witch.  Through attunement of nature, practice and ritual, one can learn the ways of the Wicce.  The peace, joy and love for everything in nature are the only required quality; the knowledge, mindset and satisfaction through Wicca are LEARNED.

This FAQ page is copied from http://www.witchway.net/wicca/faq.html  I am not trying to take their word as my own. I just think these are very good answers to these questions. Please note not everyone will agree with these definitions and there isn't anything wrong with that. I just wanted to share a bit of information with people.

Tarot lessons

I'm excited, I'm starting tarot lessons soon. Tomorrow I'm getting things to study and then the lessons begin. The woman who is going to teach me is organizing a metaphysical fair which is really cool. I wish they had one in the part of GA where I live. I'm so glad I'll finally be able to read Tarot and not just do it haltingly yay!

Tarot reading I won

Current Events: Four of Pentacles
Aid/Hinder: Queen of Pentacles w/Six of Pentacles

Recent Past: Seven of Cups, Justice

Near Future: Eight of Wands, Princess of Pentacles w/Nine of Pentacles
Internal: Eight of Cups w/Two of Cups
Affect on Others: Ten of Cups (inv)
Effect on You: Four of Wands
Potential Outcome: Six of Wands

I used the Celtic tarot deck for your reading. I'm not sure how familiar you are with tarot, so I will just give a brief overview. The tarot is divided first into two halves, the Major and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana is 21 cards from 0 to 21 which emphasize significant areas of your life and events which are affecting you much more strongly. The Minor Arcana is divided into four sections, in a similar fashion to that of a regular deck of cards. The suits are Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles, in the deck that I used, other decks will use Staves and Coins instead of Wands and Pentacles.

Your current situation is one of trying to save money to make sure that you have enough. This is being hampered a bit, despite your focus on money and your ability to be down-to-earth about the situation, you're still bleeding resources. At this time I can't tell if this is that you have a lot of debt, or if it's because you've been helping others out, but either way it's a difficult situation to be in. I'm sure more will become clear as I get further into the reading.

Your recent past there are feelings of being stuck, flailing with the oars in the boat and not getting anywhere, and also of having to spend a lot of time dealing with complicated and taxing issues of possibly a legal nature, but definitely ones where you're having to trim the fat and work out things that you can do without. Justice is sacrifice to get ahead, you know that you're going to be better off once you get out the other side, but at the same time you're going to have a tough road when you first axe some things or people out of your sphere of influence.

Your near future shows rebuilding, you're finding a better place to live, a better environment to study or work in, and creating things that are going to be beneficial to you. There's a youthfulness to your qualities as you move forward in this manner, you feel re-energized and at the same time you're going to be able to reap benefits fiscally, the nine shows accomplishing things and becoming more comfortable in that way.

Your internal focus, here two cards came out together, this shows learning how to manage things better, learning what you can and helping yourself, and also feeling disillusioned about the way you're running things it also shows thinking about a romantic partnership that you have, this is an equal focus for you, and rectifying things there may help you sort out the rest of your mess.

There seems to be a lot of strife coming from you, because of the stress you're under, and you're finding it difficult to put positive things into your environment. However, you're being successful. You're getting rewarded, and you're going to be successful.

There's a chance of movement. The Six is a card of changing and achieving. Things are moving upwards for you, there's even a chance of physically moving from one job to another, from one house to another. Either way there's progression, there's being able to move past things that have been holding you back and on to better things.

Covens

So I'm looking for a coven to join or just hang around. I'm not sure I want to be IN a coven or if I want to remain a solitary. Two of the searches that came up that I like the best are http://www.meetup.com/savannahgoddess/ which  I've looked over and joined. The other is http://www.witchvox.com/vn/vn_detail/dt_gr.html?a=usga&id=33934 which I haven't had a chance to look over yet. My boyfriend and I are probably moving about three hours away in a few months so I wouldn't be able to get attached to any group. And I don't want to start looking where we are moving because I will need time to settle in and find a job etc.

Is anyone reading this in a coven? If so what do you like about it? What do you dislike?

Work

I'm still working on getting this blog up and running. I was hoping to get people to comment and leave ideas. What do you expect from a Wiccan blog? What do you think I should have on here?

A spell for money

This is a money pouch that I have personally used and had success with:

You will need:
A green pouch or bag you've made
A gold cord
Pine
Basil
Rice or beans
green candle
Rosemary
Incense
A spell or prayer written to Fortuna

Add everything to the bag except for the candle and incense
Go to a North Facing wall, light the candle and incense.
Bless the bag by waving it through the smoke and say your spell.
Visualize what you want (not what you need) if you would like you can put slips of paper with what you need in the bag. Then tie the cord around the mouth of the bag three times.
Close blessing with your thanks to deity of choice .
Leave a small offering of flowers

Save the candle for  this use only. If you feel the need to recharge the bag relight the candle and start the blessing over.
